ALL Beings Deserve Your Compassion

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! You need to know that there is no scripture in the world that says you were here to love only a certain kind of person. There isn’t a scripture in the world that says this kind of person but not this kind of person. And if someone has tried to convince you otherwise, you need to read that shit for yourself, you need to do the work, you need to see for yourself. All beings deserve your compassion. Especially Now. Like A Wave Returning To The Ocean

Like A Wave Returning To The Ocean

We have no personal experience of enlightenment, abundant peace, joy, for all those fantasies beyond the horizon and the minds eye. Yet we know it. We can feel it, we’ve tasted it, it’s as if it’s here if only for an instant and asking us to return home to it. It is beyond our imagination, it is beyond the horizon, it can only be described as, “I don’t know”. “I don’t know” is the infinite. How will I get to abundant peace? “I do not know”, other than to walk. To say, “I don’t know” is like the wave returning to the ocean.   If you find joy and value …

What Value Are You Attaching To Things?

What Value Are You Attaching To Things?

The thing itself gives no value or weight to the thing. We do. We give the thing all its value, all its weight. This pen is either a pen or a sword. This pen is revolution, or freedom, the ability to be myself, hope, maybe a way out. The circumstance of the person who sees the thing broadens or narrows it’s worth, it’s weight. So, what value are you attaching to things? Do you actually need them in your life? Are they causing you pain or are they setting you free? Look at the things you value for better or for worse, and tell me what they mean to you. …

Write Your Sorrows In Sand and Your Joys In Stone

Write Your Sorrows In Sand and Your Joys In Stone

“Everything can be taken from a person except one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” – Viktor Frankl There is an old Chinese saying, “Write your sorrows in sand and etch your joys in stone.” It is an invitation to us to reverse the corrosive pattern that inclines us to write our joys in sand, easily forgotten, and to etch our sorrows in stone. We love to remember the hurt and move past the joys. We must learn to cultivate the remembrance of the kindness, generosity and compassion received oft and always, even if tiny. …

Gratitude Is The Foundation Of All Generosity

Gratitude Is The Foundation Of All Generosity

Gratitude, the simple and profound feeling of being thankful, is the foundation of all generosity. I am generous when I believe that right now, right here, in this form and this place, I am myself being given what I need. Generosity requires that we relinquish something, and this is impossible if we are not glad for what we have. Otherwise the giving hand closes into a fist and won’t let go. By Patiently Practicing You Can Produce A Miracle

By Patiently Practicing You Can Produce A Miracle

Genius is eternal patience – Michelangelo Be patient. Be kind to yourself. Others might give up, get frustrated, and overtime get tired and burned out. They might blame the practice, saying it doesn’t work; while it is a normal reaction to blame something that doesn’t work, look closely. If you do something haphazardly and fail, don’t blame the system. Find out what can be done differently and make the necessary adjustments. Remember – Genius is eternal patience. If you find joy and value in what I do and share, please consider supporting with a recurring or one time donation of your choosing, between a cup of coffee and some Trader Joe’s …

I AM...

I AM…

Everything after these two words, “I Am” speaks on our former participation in the world. I Am – “this”, “that”, “man”, “woman”, “30 years old”, “70 years old”, etc. If you want one thing to meditate on, one thing to try and grasp, make it simply “I Am.” I Am… with nothing else attached to it is beyond what our minds can grasp, beyond our imagination. I Am is infinite and boundless and timeless. I Am… is so much more than any word which describes what I have done and previously experienced. Anything post “I Am” is limiting to what I truly Am. I Am is the opening and receiving of …

"Blessed Are The Pure Of Heart, For They Shall See God." An Examination of (Matthew 5:8)

“Blessed Are The Pure Of Heart, For They Shall See God.” An Examination of (Matthew 5:8)

Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God. (Matthew 5:8) I think when people come across this scripture, it turns them off, they know that on a surface level there is no way they are pure of heart- not totally pure, not in that way. I am not pure of heart. I have done wrongs, betrayed, not honored my word and I sometimes find myself thinking thoughts (towards myself and others) that are far from compassionate. That being said, does this mean I should walk away from the ability and chance to know God? “Pure of heart” is not perfection and abstinence and washing every person’s dirty …

Want To Know How To Have Peace?

Want To Know How To Have Peace?

Want to know what is the antidote to the poison that is wanting? Giving. Giving is a medicine that proves you do not need because you have. Giving does not stop what you might get, it doesn’t stop you from living your life, but increases the capacity and availability to reception, to receiving. When to give, the more I empty my vessel from matter-less and heavy gas-filled wants. This empty nothing which weighs me down and takes up space. The more empty I am of wants, the more my heart, mind, and body can listen, receive and focus. Calm action = calm mind. We must cultivate peace throughout our actions, through our conduct, if …
