Erase The “but” From Life

I’m sorry, but, it wasn’t my fault I love you, but, I would, but, yeah, but, I know, but, What if we erased the but and just spoke without qualifiers? Took them at face value. Simplified. Made our words count with fewer and more direct statements. You either want to or you don’t. You either will or you wont. Yes or no, with few in between.   Peace and Blessings

There is something to be said about the person who dedicates their life to one thing. Who’s primary focus and attention goes into to carving out one path. To becoming a MASTER– all knowing in one field inside and out. “No one is a master any more.” – Gennadi Bogdanov Everybody wants to be a jack of all trades, a Know-it-all; but the jack of all trades was never a master in anything. It’s why in my opinion restaurants with small menus, a single page with a few items are always superior to a 150 choices, “we make everything”, thick as a bible menu restaurant; because they haven’t taken the …

Start Strong

If you tend to rush around in the morning attempting to pick out your power outfit, eat breakfast, make lunch, pack your gym bag, and answer e-mails sent while you were sleeping, all before you step out the door it’s no wonder you’re frustrated. If you want to feel confident and perform well, it’s time you had a streamlined morning routine. “Routines are time-saving,” says Julie Morgenstern, author of Never Check E-mail in the Morning. “When you don’t have one, you lose time trying to figure out what do next, and you forget things.” And if you start the day off negatively, chances are the rest of the day will …

Forget Yourself

“To know yourself, is to forget yourself” – Pema  Chodron If just for a moment, I ask you to please forget yourself. And think of all the thousands of large and little things that allowed you to be here in this very moment. The Millions of things that went right as opposed to the hundred that might go wrong (or that we call wrong) The teachers that inspired you without your knowing it. The lessons learned from the guy standing in line with you at the grocery store. What a Winnie The Pooh story you read when you were 8 years old taught you about your relationship, might have even …

Desiderata by Max Ehrmann

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,  and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender,  be on good terms with all persons.  Speak your truth quietly and clearly;  and listen to others,  even to the dull and the ignorant;  they too have their story.  Avoid loud and aggressive persons;  they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others,  you may become vain or bitter,  for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.  Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.  Keep interested in your own career, however humble;  it is a real possession in the changing …

Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs” Is a theory in psychology, proposed by Abraham Maslow in his 1943 paper, A Theory of Human Motivation. Maslow subsequently extended the idea to include his observations of humans innate curiosity. His theories parallel many other theories of human developmental psychology, all of which focus on describing the stages of growth in humans. What are your thoughts?? How much of this do you need? All of it? Some of it? Is it shocking to see yourself in a chart?

Luck? Chance? None of the above

I don’t believe in luck or that things happen by chance. I come from the school of thought: “Ask and you shall receive” Now that doesn’t mean it will be handed down to you from God in a glowing orb and shining beam of light with an orchestra of angels playing harps. How I see it: Is that you ask and then prepare yourself to build the house one brick at a time. You are prepared to fall and take wrong turns, because it’s all about the journey – “We can know where we’re going, where we’ll end up, but we can’t possibly know how we’re going to get there” …
