NEEDS

Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs” Is a theory in psychology, proposed by Abraham Maslow in his 1943 paper, A Theory of Human Motivation. Maslow subsequently extended the idea to include his observations of humans innate curiosity. His theories parallel many other theories of human developmental psychology, all of which focus on describing the stages of growth in humans. What are your thoughts?? How much of this do you need? All of it? Some of it? Is it shocking to see yourself in a chart?

Luck? Chance? None of the above

I don’t believe in luck or that things happen by chance. I come from the school of thought: “Ask and you shall receive” Now that doesn’t mean it will be handed down to you from God in a glowing orb and shining beam of light with an orchestra of angels playing harps. How I see it: Is that you ask and then prepare yourself to build the house one brick at a time. You are prepared to fall and take wrong turns, because it’s all about the journey – “We can know where we’re going, where we’ll end up, but we can’t possibly know how we’re going to get there” …

QTIP – Quit Taking It Personally

Not everyone’s out to get you. Nor are they talking about you. Or watching you when your not looking. That’s the EGO talking, trying to enforce it’s will and take control. Life sucks Life would be better if I just had … I’m not good enough I’m so sad without … I’m nobody without him/her I need a tummy tuck/face lift/smaller butt/bigger biceps/insert-bodily-anxiety here I’ll show him/her! Sacredness

“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” – Oscar Wilde Some thing, someone, a principal, at least one or all of the above should be held Sacred. A thing you live by, that helps shape you. Your code. The things that keep you grounded. Remind us of our purpose. These things you don’t budge on, you don’t forget them or alter them for anyone. They are yours and they are necessary. Whether it’s taking a day off- I mean OFF; the computer stays off, the work leaves the brain and you just reward yourself. Or naming …

Happy 90th Birthday

With time comes understanding Written by Regina Brett, 90 years old, of the Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio . “To celebrate growing older, I wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. 1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good. 2. When in doubt, just take the next small step. 3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. 4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch. 5. Pay off your credit cards every month. 6. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree. 7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone. 8. It’s …

The Secret To Better Sleep

The Secret To Better Sleep

The Secret To Better Sleep “You must sleep sometime between lunch and dinner, and no halfway measures. Take off your clothes and get into bed. That’s what I always do. Don’t think you will be doing less work because you sleep during the day. That’s a foolish notion held by people who have no imaginations. You will be able to accomplish more. You get two days in one — well, at least one and a half” – Winston ChurchillThe Secret To Better Sleep: To be at your most productive at work and in life, a good night’s sleep is essential. This infographic shows the benefits of a good night’s sleep, one of …

Stuck in a Box (Just Step Out)

Wake up, stub your toe and the rest of your day goes to shit. One bad thing leads to a dozen bad things. “God, this day SUCKS!” “Why can’t I catch a break?” … Sound familiar? We’ve all been there. Stuck in this downward spiral, but are we really stuck? Can we just stop in its tracks? This hole we dig for ourselves, drop the shovel and walk away. NAME it. Identify it. There by taking control of the situation. Grabbing the reins and saying, “What happened, happened. This moment, this very second things are back in my control, the Universe is working for me, and things are headed up!” …
