Keys To Better Digestion
More important than what and how much you eat, is how your body is processing and digesting it.
Undigested food leads to complications such as heart problems, kidney problems, clogged arteries, colon problems and autoimmune diseases.
EAT GREENS. EAT GREENS. EAT GREENS. & MORE GREENS
Enzymes: All food in its RAW state contains enzymes – Proteins that increase the rate of chemical reactions, A.K.A the little guys that break down the food so our bodies can digest the essential vitamins and nutrients. Enzymes are extremely sensitive to high heats, meaning when we cook our food at high temperatures we kill the enzymes. So I recommended taking Enzyme supplements with every meal! & eat Raw Greens as much as possible.
Drink plenty of water but not while eating – Drinking excess water, coffee, tea, pop, juice or beer with your meal will dilute your hydrochloric acid, which is the substance that Mother Nature blesses you with to fight anything bad or toxic that goes into your stomach, and which also digests your food.
The proteolytic enzymes, pepsin and bile, can’t do their job because you’ve watered down your hydrochloric acid, and the result is that you belch and burp, you let off gas, and get a feeling of nauseousness and fullness because you over-drank with your meals.
You should drink fluids ½ hour before your meal or ½ hour after, with the exception of drinking 5 to 6 ounces of good wine with a meal because wine aids in digestion. 4 to 5 ounces of water is permissible if taking supplements or if eating dry food such as tuna. You can also take Apple Cider Vinegar, 1 tsp. (Morning and Night) If you suffer from poor digestion as I do.
Chew your food: I struggle with this, always rushing, eating on the run. Are teeth and Saliva are there to aid in the digestion process, they are the first line of defense in breaking down the nutrients. So take your time, and really chew it up.
Probiotic: Or lactobacillus, or any of the natural intestinal bacteria most always referred to as acidophilus. The good bacteria also help digest food, and fight yeast and parasites as well fighting foreign matter and debris in your colon.
If possible lift your feet slightly above or at stomach level post meal, and, or go for a walk – an old Chinese proverb:Eat, then take at least 99 steps, live to be a 100!!
Peace and Blessings
