When Was The Last Time You Did Nothing?

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

When was the last time you unplugged and gave no focus or energy to anything but yourself? There is too much that beckons us. Without our even knowing it, takes us by surprise. Between email, text message, Twitter, Facebook, blogging, bills, Youtube, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, pinterest, news, magazines, television, Tivo, phone calls (received and made), old school snail mail, DVR, things you have to do, things you should do, and the list goes on. These things have begun to define us. Instead of using them to our advantage we don’t know a life without them. They no longer enhance life, they are the only option. Give yourself the gift …

It’s The Little Things

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

“God is in the details” – Mies van der Rohe This is what I live by. Not what I always practice but what I am constantly reminded of. How special the little things are, the things you cant count, like when someone is thinking about you and calls to check in on you. Like flowers for no reason other than for giving. Flowers falling from trees – mid flight. The unexpected. Finger foods and taster menus. Like the moments between a first kiss. Like your monday that was shockingly amazing. The colors of an inner city sunset Sunsets. Unexpected good – all good! Like getting lost and discovering something beautiful. …

Unlearn all the B.S.

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

B.S. – Belief System Unlearn it now. Rewire everything that doesn’t serve us, what we think or assume we know. Tap into who you are. Unlearn. That happiness is something you need to find, happiness is inside of you, you have the potential to always be  happy, anywhere and everywhere, like Nelson Mandela in a prison for 27 years, only to released and lead the largest forgiveness movement of all time! Unlearn. To pray by asking. To pray by coercing. It’s already happened. Pray by thanking, thanks for what you’ve been given – so much! Unlearn. Beginning and endings. Forever evolving. 1 Life, Many Chapters. Abundance that never runs out, …

The One Eyed Man

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Is King in the world of the blind. Seeing with the eyes, still blind. A blind world. The one eye is a different eye, a.k.a third eye, it goes deeper than first appearances, deeper than the body on loan, it sees the spirit. Its the opening of the mind. “Open my eyes, so that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.”—Psalm 119:18 The seer changes things. The one who truly sees, sees past judgements and limitations, past labels like fear, lack of, money, limitation, beauty, pain, loneliness; all those things transform to beauty, love, joy, abundance, kindness, hope, health, abundance, power, stillness, joy, compassion. That sight is contagious. …

Break The Shell Of Mediocrity

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Stop believing your own thinking. Go from Good to Great. No blame, no shame, just set yourself FREE from all the things we have been taught, images and ideas consumed, all that we have done to ourselves by speaking and thinking mediocrity. We are destined to wake up. Destined to BE Greatness- no less. We need to break free from this little life we live. A Little Existence Is Not Who You Are. Break through to the epitome of living. Kill that old life. Be glad you lost that job. Glad those plans didn’t work out. Glad they walked out. Glad you see it all. Glad it helps break us …

The Refusal To Accept

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Suffering: The refusal to accept. That’s it, it’s that simple. Now if we can say “Yes” , that, all is as it should be; even simpler – all is as it is. All is the only possible Now. All is good. All is great. All is as it should BE. All that arrives in your lap is unexpected good, an unexpected tool to learn, to know more – of the world and of thyself. This is all there is; from this place, I have all the tools necessary to be more of life expressing itself through me. Because “bad” is just a label. “Wrong”. “Unfortunate”. All these are just words that make …

The Middle

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Anyone who has between phases of hair styles/lengths,  knows the middle is rough, awkward, not ideal place. Its us leaving something we know to embark on something new. It’s scary, doubt creeps in, we contemplate “would it just be easier to turn back before I stray to far? Did I make a mistake? Maybe I don’t really want this? What if it doesn’t work?” Hair is one example. Relationships come to mind – lovers, family, friends, associates. Work- new jobs, old jobs.  Education. It helps to not categorize things as beginnings and endings, what once was, what will be. It all is just one thing- Now. It’s a constantly abundant …

See ME

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in an Australian country town, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value. Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital. One nurse took her copy to Melbourne. The old man’s sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas editions of magazines around the country and appearing in mags for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem. …

Sooner or Later You Will Have To Give Up

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Ask nothing; want nothing in return. Give what you have to give; it will come back to you — but do not think of that now, it will come back multiplied a thousandfold — but the attention must not be on that. Yet have the power to give: give, and there it ends. Learn that the whole of life is giving, that nature will force you to give. So, give willingly. Sooner or later you will have to give up. You come into life to accumulate. With clenched hands, you want to take. But nature puts a hand on your throat and makes your hands open. Whether you will it …

Say Thank You

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Your assumptions about the lives of others are in direct relation to your naïve pomposity. Many people you believe to be rich are not rich. Many people you think have it easy worked hard for what they got. Many people who seem to be gliding right along have suffered and are suffering. Many people who appear to you to be old and stupidly saddled down with kids and cars and houses were once every bit as hip and pompous as you. When you meet a man in the doorway of a Mexican restaurant who later kisses you while explaining that this kiss doesn’t ‘mean anything’ because, much as he likes …

Fake It Till You Make It

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Has some validity It’s being the person you want to become. It’s living in your highest self right now. It’s not being blinded from this beautiful present because of a future you want. It’s being the movie star in this moment. Being that amazing dancer right now. Being that philanthropist, the rock star- entrepreneur-sustainable-thinker- philosophizer-published author right now! Tomorrow might not come. How we create it? We live it. How we manifest it? We own it, in our breath, every second. We fake it till we make it by surrounding ourselves with it- everywhere. We read books about it, put up pictures and quotes, we write it down over and …

With What Measure Ye Mete

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. – Matthew 7:2 If we could truly understand for a moment the meaning of these words, they would turn our everyday conduct inside out, and so change us that, in an instant (I mean that), our closest friends would hardly know us, our blood left wondering what happened? The plain fact is that it is the law of life that: As we think, and speak, and act toward others, so will others think, and speak, and act toward us. Everything that we do to others will sooner …

What is the “Good Life”?

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

What they tell us it is? A large house, bottles of champagne and fast cars. Being in the limelight. Watching what they tell  us to watch, listening to what they say is good. Or… Giving back, feeling whole and grounded. Being grateful for every moment. Excited because we earned our rest, excited to wake up to a new and blessed day where we can tackle something fresh and exciting. Martin Seligman’s great book “Authentic Happiness” he says: “‘What is the good life?’ In my view, you can find it by following a startlingly simple path. The ‘pleasant life’ might be had by drinking champagne and driving a Porsche, but not …

You Don’t Have To Wait

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

We don’t have to wait, we never did. There are these things called moments and they happen all the time. The crazy part is that each one is brand new, and brings with it nothing of the past, nothing! So every second we have the chance (should we accept our mission) to live brand new. To forget our failures, to leave behind our fears and worries, to bury our doubts, and to be free. We don’t have to wait – not anymore. It’s here, right now, and again, and it just happened, and it keeps happening, begging you to let go and grab on to RIGHT NOW. What’s stopping …

Excuse Me, Who are you?

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

What if we forgot everyone we knew? Or forgot everything we thought we knew about a person? If we treated everyone BRAND NEW. If we shut off the tape in our heads that plays what we think they might say, what we expect them to do, destroyed the tape with all those preconceptions. What happens then? In a world brand new, where we are constantly learning an discovering, and not judging or assuming. What happens then? I challenge you to forget what you thought you knew and go learn someone in a new way. … If you enjoyed this article Please Consider SUBSCRIBING.

How Are The Children?

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Among the most accomplished and fabled tribes of Africa, no tribe was considered to have warriors more fearsome or more intelligent than the mighty Masai. It is perhaps surprising, then, to learn the traditional greeting that passed between Masai warriors: “Kasserian Ingera,” one would always say to another. It means, “How are the children?” It is still the traditional greeting among the Masai, acknowledging the high value that the Masai always place on their children’s well-being. Even warriors with no children of their own would always give the traditional answer, “All the children are well.” Meaning, of course, that peace and safety prevail, that the priorities of protecting the young, …

I’ve Been Set-Up!!

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

My whole life has been a SET-UP for right NOW. A set-UP for greatness, for success, for living life to its fullest.I have been generously set-up! The traffic ticket I couldn’t afford. The long line at the supermarket. The job I didn’t book. The break-ups. The petty bickering. The getting angry about nothing. The worry, the fear. The tears, of joy & sadness. The suffering. The unforgettable nights. The days that couldn’t end soon enough. They have all been a set-up, for right here, right now! How can I grow from this? How can I choose to use this to my advantage? All a part of the plan. Placed HERE …

ENOUGH

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

The Fear of “Not Enough”. The fear that WE are not enough. Everybody feels it – The Successful and unsuccessful, the alive and fulfilled, the empty. This deathly feeling of not enough. Everybody feels this in some context: Not rich enough Smart enough Playful enough Pretty enough Strong enough the list goes on… Now when we feel worthless there is no deeper fear than us being not enough; and because we are not enough we cannot possibly be loved; but only we can judge our self-worth, no one else. We are ENOUGH and so much more. Say it, Out Loud. Own it. The world is yearning to LOVE you, all …

Ask yourself

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Did I live? Did I love? Did I matter? Did I grow? Did I learn? Did I break rules? Did I breathe? Did I slide in head first at least once? What will my obituary say? How will I be remembered? Did I do everything I wanted to do? What do i want out of this life and why do I think I can’t have it? What am I doing that I don’t love? These are the questions that matter. These are the questions that grab our veins and shake the dust, shake us from the inside. These are the thoughts that begin to tear down walls, move mountains, tilt the axis …

Go Home, Change The Story

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Take all the Villains and turn them into Heroes. Take all the things that went wrong and make them right. Make what should have happened, what did happen. It’s not delusional, it’s truth, believe it. It’s not a lie, the lie is the dark and grim story you tell yourself. How do I know? Because we were not put on this planet to have or achieve or BE anything else but magnificent. Our magnificence, your magnificence. Don’t compare it to someone else’s. This is your story. For some the story ends as a president, for others, a doctor, a monk, a firemen, a wife, a school teacher, a poet, a …

What Unexpected GOOD Will Happen Today?

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

How many times have you asked that?? Are you ready for all the good that will come your way? Expected and unexpected greatness. Or have you feared the worst? Instead of fearing all the things you wish wouldn’t happen but most likely expect will happen, ask yourself – With the mindset that there is more than enough, nothing but enough GOOD to go around: What good!? All Good! What unexpected good will happen today? What great things will surprise me today? What does the universe have in store for me today? What beautiful lessons will I learn today? Who will I meet? What will I see? Where will the universe …

“I know, I know.”

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

“I know, I know.” “I know, I know.” – you tell someone something that’s what you get, “I know, I know!” I know that you know, but do you believe? Do you own it? We don’t truly believe the things we know are true or right – and it’s not our fault – it’s because we haven’t seen them play out just yet. We haven’t seen them fulfilled or realized. We live in a goal orientated society, but it’s all about the middle, they gray, the little things. Do you truly believe with everything? That it will all be alright, that all you have to do is trust, accept, surrender, …

Honesty… Do Us All A Favor

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Saying how we honestly feel. Saying what we honestly need. How many times a day do you get asked and or you ask, “how are you doing?” – and the immediate auto-pilot response is… “Good” Good, always good. Good or tired. I doubt you are just good, I doubt you are just tired- granted sometimes that’s all we are– but more often than not we are neither, we are so many more things: we are overwhelmed, we are vulnerable, we are sad, we are scared, we are anxious, we are loved, we are grateful, we are not good, we are not alright, etc… When was the last time you said …

The Need For Others

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Like all things, in moderation. But necessary. One cannot find enlightenment alone – it can’t be found in a cave. The inner work must be done but sooner or later we are going to need the chance to practice love and kindness in and around the presence of others. All the peace, presence, stillness one has when they are alone are great, but if they are thrown out the window the second the get cut off on the highway, or meet an unexpected long line – that is where the work comes into play, where we learn our biggest lessons. “Allow the world to be your teacher” You need the …

Not Childish, Child Like

by in General, Mindfulness & Spirituality.

Child like soul Child like being Minds Imaginations Free spirits – There is nothing wrong with that! You are not childish, you are beautiful and powerful and oh so Child-Like! You are curious. You ask questions because asking questions is how you figure things out. Lots and lots of questions. You hated it when a grown-up told you, “We’ll see.” It’s still unacceptable. Don’t say it yourself. Your body was designed for throwing baseballs, shooting hoops, and jumping off diving boards and stuff. In the secret language of children, the word “fitness” doesn’t exist. It’s called “having fun.” Your world can be half-real and half-imaginary. Food is Energy. You eat …
