Autopilot Will Be The Death Of Us

Are you reacting without even knowing it?

Or are you thinking and choosing your next move?

Who is in control? Your mind or you?

Imagine what can happen when we take the reins and tell our minds when to work, where to Focus its energy.

Meditation isn’t about shutting off the brain, but rather consciously observing it, seeing why it chooses to run where it does, how it does.

It’s not about stopping thinking, shutting it off,  it’s about focusing your attention.

So that when an itch comes, you don’t just scratch it; you feel it, you observe it, you see if it will soon pass, you choose to scratch it, as opposed to unconsciously reacting.

Try your best to not be a puppet to your mind. Wake up, the world is sleeping, wake up.

Next time you are in a room with a group of people and someone walks in the room, observe the others and if you yourself all turn your heads on an instant to watch them, completely disengaged – Puppets… Victims of circumstances, being pushed back and forth with no grounding.

Mediation, observation, slowing down, doing less, breathing more allow us to get grounded, give us the freedom to see, the power to wake!

We can begin to see how we bring ourselves down, attack ourselves with our “pain body” (as Eckhart Tolle calls it) that feeds on negativity. The best way to silent that pain body is to watch it, to not fight it, observe it, know that a thought is just a thought, and be fully present observing your limited and harsh ways of thinking.

You are separate from you negative thoughts, separate from your negative talk.

There is no right way to meditate as there is no right way for a river to flow into the ocean. It’s also not easy, I think people are turned off when the realize what a challenge it is. This is why people devote their lives to it, it’s a practice that is scientifically proven to cultivate happiness and relieve pain – as little as one minute a day is beneficial.

You can meditate standing, sitting in a chair or on the floor, lying down, eyes open or closed, staring at an object, focusing on breath, on sound, on your body in space, while walking, outdoors or indoors, with music, in silence, light, dark… They are all right. 

It’s as simple as showering yourself with love – because it all starts with you.

Everyday, as little as one minute will open up your consciousness and bring you closer to living, to cultivating peace, love and pure joy.

Wake up, switch off autopilot and discover  how sweet it is to know the divine, the divine presence within us!
